Dr. Jaime M. Aycardo † (1948-2012)

Graduated top of his batch from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 1972, Dr. Jaime is the pioneer of many things veterinary in Cebu. A former president of the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) Cebu Chapter, he is one of the first batch of instructors to help set up Veterinary Medicine at the Southwestern University. He has served as a consultant to farms, and has made veterinary nutrition his second nature. Most of all, Dr. Jaime is a genius at math, and devotes his spare time in statistics and epidemiology. Currently, Dr. Jaime’s practice focuses more on the nutrition of dogs & cats, veterinary management of avian, and in the serology of livestock and domesticated animals.

From the day veterinary medicine was still an infant to the day it has matured in the eyes of the Filipino people, Dr. Jaime has witnessed how perseverance contributes much to the success of this profession.

Dr. Jaime is also an elder of a local church. He preaches occasionally during the weekends and is a strong believer of the Christian faith. A proud grandfather of 6 kids, he loves to watch movies every week with his beautiful wife, Lucy (†).
